“The BEAN transfers the performance features of a standard shortboard into a more compact design that’s incredibly fast and responsive in small-to-medium size waves. A generous nose template distributes extra volume into the front half of the board, while added width through the centre creates a platform for immediate drive and start-up acceleration.
Low entry rocker further enhances speed; this is offset by moderate rocker through the tail which helps to maintain manoeuvrability in steeper waves. The BEAN retains the thickness, rail volume and foil of a performance shortboard and combines a shallow single-to-double concave with vee running out through the tail. The result is a board that’s frisk, lively and a ton of fun.
Ride the BEAN 3-to-6 inches shorter than your regular shortboard. The versatility of the BEAN is further enhanced with a tri-quad fin configuration allowing it to be set up as a thruster or a quad”
“The modern shortboard. Smooth outline gives you good drive in the pocket. Combining a deep single concave with a gradual nose entry and medium tail kick gives it a heap of speed with the option of releasing the tail. Generous foam under your chest gets you more waves and makes it easy to land crazy airs and recover from full rail turns.
Designed to be ridden at your height.”
“Coming up to its fifth birthday The Chubby Chedda is proving to be a way more versatile short board than ever anticipated and the favourite of many re-ordering their LSD. The design stemmed from a widened outline of a contemporary shortboard, hence the ‘Chubby’ providing desirable fast planing speed. The nose rocker is low for acceleration and ease of paddling while the performance-style tail rocker allows the board to get vertical and whippy when needed. Single concave throughout with a decent double under the back foot makes it easy to roll over from rail to rail.
Round tail Chubby Chedda
The CC has until now been designed with a round square tail but research has found that a round tail on the CC gives it a whole new dimension; slightly less pod area gives the rider more hold and control, especially in bigger powerful waves and makes it easier to fit into the more critical suckier sections.”
“High performance small wave quad option all rounder for waves 1 to 5 feet.
Medium nose and tail rocker with deep single concave to a slight vee right on the tail to assist quad rail to rail control. Low soft Simon rail to help hold and facilitate deeper carves through turns on the wave face.
“Increased width and nose area enables you to surf FD a little shorter as per World Tour trends. Works best all round as a thruster but has the ability to be looser and faster as a quad in weaker waves.”
“Your normal favorite thruster set will be good.
For clean point or reef waves – flat inside foil side thruster fin set and double sided foil back quad fins. For general beach breaks conditions – concave inside foil side thruster fin set with 70 30 foil back quad fins.”
“The Flat Head by Stacey Surfboards has a fun stubby shortboard outline that loves getting amongst the smaller waves. With a nice flat deck and full rolled rail, combined with a single to double concave and a flatter entry rocker, you are going to have plenty of fun on this beast.
The Flat Head is perfect for those smaller days. Surfed in a thruster setup, this board is a simple, uncomplicated template that will do everything you need.”

“The volume in the Jalapeño is distributed to encourage paddle power yet stay agile off the tail with a refined rounded pin.
Designed as a versatile all round performance model the Jalapeño has a single to double concave with a slight vee in the tail allowing for speed control and release during high speed rail turns. The Jalapeño is a great option for the one board surfer looking for a model that can be surfed in just about any conditions from 2 to 3 feet beach breaks to over head hollow waves. The extra width through the nose and slightly reduced entry rocker makes the Jalapeño easy to paddle and fast from the take off. The versatile 5 fin setup adds to its diversity and allows surfing in hollow, barreling waves.”
Just like your trusty 5150, The Machine Head will get the job done. Even after all those shows in tiny rooms & sweaty underground clubs. It’s going to constantly do what you need it to, even when under pressure. Trusted to handle whatever you throw at it. Shred on…

“The Magic Mushroom is a shorter, wider version of a standard shortboard that allows you shorten the arc of your turn, surf tight in the pocket, and generate exceptional speed.
Extra width positioned through the center of the board compensates for the reduction in length, while the rocker profile and bottom contours mimic that of a high performance shortboard. The hip positioned just forward of the fins reduces the tail width to maintain the rail-to-rail sensitivity and response of a much narrower board.
Available in XF Technology and PU, the Mushy is ideal for anyone looking to maximize their performance and enjoyment in day-to-day conditions.
The smaller sizes will have advanced riders exploring above the lip, the bigger sizes will suit heavier riders who want to surf to their full potential. Surf the Mushy approximately 4 inches shorter than your standard shortboard.”
“Stretched-out Mollusc, area nose, roundtail, slight single concave to vee through the back half with double concave cutting through the vee panel and fading out 9” before the end of the board, flatter deck to low soft rail, beak nose, slightly thicker tail. Ultimate wave catching assistance without sacrificing too much performance. Good stand there speed and glide across the wave. Round tail and vee combined with the tail rocker help the big board turn in a short arc off the back foot in cutbacks and rebound well off the top in smaller waves.
The Robo has reasonable hold and good drive in bigger surf and is a fun transition board to get back into shape when returning from injury or if your fitness is down or you are getting on a bit and no longer have the time or circumstance to surf regularly. Surf 4 to 6″ longer, 1/2 to 3/4″ wider and the same to 1/8 or 1/4” thicker than your old smaller all-rounder. Dimensions will depend on the level of help you need to catch waves. Keep in mind the bigger you go the less performance you can expect.”
“One of the biggest challenges in the design world of surfboards believe it or not is to create a grommet board that works. Fifteen years ago these challenges began with a very young and small Julian Wilson, more recently with my own three kids. We found success back then hand shaping these mini crafts, it was bloody hard work.
But having these as a solid reference we’ve been able to move forward with cad cutting design software and develop the user friendly all round board for groms to have fun and shred on.
The grom board has to have enough volume so the little guy/girl can catch waves while at the same time maintaining flow and sensitivity, enabling the grom to easily turn the board.
The Phoenix is an all round board for accomplished little shredders and can be ordered a size up for the novice.”
The Rainbow is one of those nice forgiving boards that wont let you down,
an un-judgemental good communicator with bright spark flair.
Thruster or 5 fins setup.
Single to double concave medium rocker for easy maneuvering,
Full outline, flat deck with boxy rails, you can ride this board small,
it has a lot of foam in it eg 80kg guy can ride 5’6 x 19 3/4 x 2 3/16..
Easy to ride up to 6-8 feet.
The Grizzly is a powerful, top-of-the-food-chain predator. Chosen by Mitch Crews, Evan Gieselman, Kalani David & Jesse Adam. Much of their diet consists of pocket surfing, tight arcs and down the line speed. Grizzly’s have a pulled in nose outline compared to other shortboards over the last 5 years. It’s deep single to double concave allows it to hunt prey fast. The extra layer of foam under the chest helps with paddling.

Extensive testing with Dakoda Walters to ensure that it performs in all the right places for a younger surfer.
The Roach comes from a collaboration I did a few years ago with Bob Hurley based on a board he made for Rabbit Bartholemew back in the 80′s. The Rab3 is a really popular board that is made for the Hurley staff and team and I wanted to make a modern version of this for the Stacey brand. I’ve used the Rab3 as the base, but have tweaked every aspect of it it to give a really nice, settled feel when on the wave. It’s still got the Hip Swallow Tail and intricate bottom contours to give it drive and a tight turning arc. It is available in either thruster or a five fin set-up to give you more options when you’re at the beach. The Roach in 2017 is also available with Square Tail for a fun, 1980’s feel, but with modern capabilities.
Designed to be ridden 3 inches shorter than your height.
This is a performance board for tiny waves. A flat rocker with a raised rail curve to give vee out the back of the board for speed and release. A stubby outline combined with a wide round square tail allows for rail to rail surfing. This winning combo saw Matt Wilkinson ride it to the WCT Final in Santa Cruz. Seeing that this board could be ridden in competition waves so well, saw it placed in the new Emery Anarchy series.
