Quick Overview:
The Machine Head can be trusted to handle whatever you throw at it…
Just like your trusty 5150, The Machine Head will get the job done. Even after all those shows in tiny rooms & sweaty underground clubs. It’s going to constantly do what you need it to, even when under pressure. Trusted to handle whatever you throw at it. Shred on…
“High performance small wave quad option all rounder for waves 1 to 5 feet. Medium nose and tail rocker with deep single concave to a slight vee right on the tail to assist quad rail to rail control. Low soft Simon rail to help hold and facilitate deeper carves through turns on the wave face.
“Increased width and nose area enables you to surf FD a little shorter as per World Tour trends. Works best all round as a thruster but has the ability to be looser and faster as a quad in weaker waves.”
“Your normal favorite thruster set will be good.
For clean point or reef waves – flat inside foil side thruster fin set and double sided foil back quad fins. For general beach breaks conditions – concave inside foil side thruster fin set with 70 30 foil back quad fins.”
The Grizzly is a powerful, top-of-the-food-chain predator. Chosen by Mitch Crews, Evan Gieselman, Kalani David & Jesse Adam. Much of their diet consists of pocket surfing, tight arcs and down the line speed. Grizzly’s have a pulled in nose outline compared to other shortboards over the last 5 years. It’s deep single to double concave allows it to hunt prey fast. The extra layer of foam under the chest helps with paddling.
The Roach is hard to kill. Add this to your quiver for some serious thrills.
The Roach comes from a collaboration I did a few years ago with Bob Hurley based on a board he made for Rabbit Bartholemew back in the 80′s. The Rab3 is a really popular board that is made for the Hurley staff and team and I wanted to make a modern version of this for the Stacey brand. I’ve used the Rab3 as the base, but have tweaked every aspect of it it to give a really nice, settled feel when on the wave. It’s still got the Hip Swallow Tail and intricate bottom contours to give it drive and a tight turning arc. It is available in either thruster or a five fin set-up to give you more options when you’re at the beach. The Roach in 2017 is also available with Square Tail for a fun, 1980’s feel, but with modern capabilities.
“Stretched-out Mollusc, area nose, roundtail, slight single concave to vee through the back half with double concave cutting through the vee panel and fading out 9” before the end of the board, flatter deck to low soft rail, beak nose, slightly thicker tail. Ultimate wave catching assistance without sacrificing too much performance. Good stand there speed and glide across the wave. Round tail and vee combined with the tail rocker help the big board turn in a short arc off the back foot in cutbacks and rebound well off the top in smaller waves.
The Robo has reasonable hold and good drive in bigger surf and is a fun transition board to get back into shape when returning from injury or if your fitness is down or you are getting on a bit and no longer have the time or circumstance to surf regularly. Surf 4 to 6″ longer, 1/2 to 3/4″ wider and the same to 1/8 or 1/4” thicker than your old smaller all-rounder. Dimensions will depend on the level of help you need to catch waves. Keep in mind the bigger you go the less performance you can expect.”
